Crinkly

About two weeks ago Charlie was a crinkle-nose girl. It was her response to everything.

"Do you want a banana Charlie?" Crinkle nose.
"Do you want to get out of your crib Charlie?" Crinkle nose.
"Do you want to play with this awesome trash?" (Obviously a favorite pastime.) Crinkle nose.
"Do you love mommy?" Crinkle nose.
"Do you want a million dollars?" Vigorous nod of approval. Ha.

After a few days of the crinkle nose I started taking offense. I began to feel like the crinkle nose was the equivalent of a teenager's eye roll. After I found myself being stern with Charlie a few times ("I know you want this banana...it's your favorite!" "You do love mommy. I promise!") I had to remind myself that she was just a baby, she was not annoyed at everything I did or said. She just really liked the feeling of her nose being up, her eyebrows touching in the middle, and squinting her eyes a bit--all at the same time. She was just experimenting with her face.

And just a few days later the crinkle nose is gone. Now I kind of miss it.

She's so cute! Good thing you got a picture of her "crinkle nose" before she stopped doing it. I'll bet she'll still pull it out at times.

I bet she'll bypass the eye roll as a teenager and return to the crinkle nose. Don't be sad, you'll get it back in a decade or so!

So glad you captured those moments! They do pass too quickly sometimes.

Now that she crinkles her nose, you have to teach her how to do the nose wiggle, like Samantha in Bewitched! ;)

Really? I thought that picture was a dead ringer for "Chucky" the homicidally possessed doll.
