I asked Charlie what she wanted to do for the Fourth of July and she told me she wanted to go on a road trip with her best friend Lindi Bolke. So we rented a van and off we went!
Points of interest: Mount Rushmore, Custer National Park (with giant herds of buffalo...of which we saw exactly two...two buffalo not two herds), Storybook Island, and Devil's Tower.
Charlie loved her 4th of July outfit.
The little girls and big boys.
Look who fell off the mountain!
I promise this is in South Dakota, not off I-15 in Lehi.
The whole crew at Devil's tower.
One of the only beautiful views in all of Wyoming.
Seth and Charlie had such a great time together.
Charlie has never seen a phone like this. How did she know what it was? It's a mystery.
Here is Lyndi...Charlie loved having her as a seatmate.
Oh, the hours and hours we spent in the car. It was tiring!
Yea! For car trips!!!

What a fun road trip! Too bad you couldn't have stuffed me into your trunk - you were in my backyard! I'm pretty sure you were in Rapid City, judging by the rotunda in that one park - am I right? Ahh, how I miss SD!
First of all, what an adorable little girl you have! She is so beautiful! Second of all, I agree Wyoming has a limited number of beautiful views, but don't forget about Yellowstone. Much of the park is in the state, and it is VERY beautiful! But of course it's one of my favorite places in the whole world, so I'm biased. :)
Super fun! That's a trip we need to make someday...I love the 4th of July!!!
How fun!! We were just at Mt. Rushmore in July. We were probably there the same day but amongst the crowds and with eyes focused on the men on the mountain...just didn't see each other. Ah man!!! Hey, we're coming to Utah again the first week of August? I was thinking we could all hang out. AND, one more random piece of information...Lacy (Smith) Klingler has just moved into our ward here. She said you two were good Scroll buddies. Oh, how we both love our Tricia friend. We pretty much talked about you for hours. All good stuff, of course. I totally recognized her when she came to church (yes, she's still active :) )...so it was fun to make the connection with you! We hang out now. Went to her little boy's b-day party last night. Random. Fun. August?!?! Oh, and Charlie is soooooooo cute. So. cute.
What a great idea for the 4th of July weekend! I'd love to go there. I've got the itch to travel somewhere out of Utah.
P.S. Thanks for seeing Eclipse with me!
Charlie is getting so big I can not even take it. So cute!!!!! Love her
Ummmm..can we do that or something like that sometime with you guys? That was so cool! Totally Jealous!
