Attempting Better Pictures

There is a professional photographer at my work who completely admits that I am not photogenic. He takes pictures at all of our company events, always taking a couple of me hoping that they will turn out. They never, ever do. He has tried many different things to make me look good, it just doesn't turn out. And I have come to terms. It is actually really nice to know that I'm not photogenic because I can always look at a picture and think, "I'm not photogenic, so I really look better than this."
So I know that I am officially not so good lookin' in front of the camera. But do you think there is such a thing as not photogenic behind the camera? Because I think I am that, too. I don't know how to take good pictures. The other day I was reading about how to take better pictures. The main points were turn off your flash and use natural light as much as possible, focus on the eyes, and try different angles. So I tried it and here are the results.

Those pictures turned out cute:) I just try to take a ton of pictures, the more pictures I take... the better chance that at least one of them will turn out cute!

Wow, these pics look great, Sis!! Charlie is so cute...and getting so big! I don't know why, but she reminds me of Jamie's Sadie when she was younger.

It's true! You DO look better than that picture (pick one, any one). Your an elusive beauty.

Also - that's funny about the flash - last year Steph tried to start a photo class at work - we did one class, (and then got too busy and it quietly died, but the 1st thing I said was, "You know the flash that's on your camera? Never use it. Ever."

With digital, a great skill has become editing down what you took. Yes you took 120 pictures, now, please, just post the 4 good ones.

And thew photo montage you posted - it's good. Not "good for Trish", good, just plain good, well done.
