October's Habit

I have LOVED my habit for September. I got so many things done around my house that wouldn't normally gotten done. In fact I was so in love with my habit that I wasn't even thinking of new ones, so when October rolled around I had no habit replacement. (Usually I am so ready to move on that I have thought of two or three good replacement habits by the end of the month.)

On Friday I decided to wait for inspiration during conference to see what kind of ideas I could come up with for October's habit. President Monson's talk gave me my idea. I know I need to be more grateful and who needs to wait until November to be a grateful, thankful person?!? Not I! I am going to start this month. In fact I started last night. Every evening my personal prayer is going to be a thankful, gratitudinal prayer instead of my usual asking, requesting, pleading kind of prayer. I don't like being too repetitive in my prayers, so I'm sure this is going to cause me to look at my life and see the things I should be grateful for but am usually too busy to notice. I think this habit is going to be hard, but amazing at the same time. Wish me luck! (Thanks!)

About 8 years ago (gah! I'm not that old) in our Relief Society we did a gratitude journal where for something like 6 months you would record something you were grateful for and not repeat yourself.
The one that came to me and surprised me the most and that I still remember is realizing how grateful I am for all the herbs and spices in my cupboard.
I love your monthly habits!

Hmmmm...I think I may have to steal this one, too. By the way, I am still making my bed and keep the dishes done. I'm so proud. Tear.
